Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a grower-consumer contract that acknowledges the seasonality and risk of farming. The CSA framework allows the consumer to partner with the farmer in assuming some of these risks by purchasing up front, and the customer benefits from a guaranteed share of the farmer's production throughout the season at the peak of its freshness. CSA customers eat like a farmer: they have access to the freshest produce possible and in season. Customers weekly pick up a variety of just-harvested produce at a predetermined time and location, so gain significant independence from the grocery store and the limited and less fresh options available there. Customers forge relationships with their farmers, and are then fully informed as to all aspects of the growing and harvesting of their food. It's a win-win.
At Bounty Farm, we have traditionally only offered a vegetable CSA, but coming May 2021, we will be offering a flower subscription in CSA style.
